We are recruiting for two advanced practice providers or hospitalists to join our growing CTICU team at Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego, CA.  

Rady Children's Hospital CTICU is a leading cardiac center with an innovative, tight-knit, high-performance team including 8 cardiac intensivists, 10 NP/PAs, 2 hospitalists, 3 CT surgeons, a world-class nursing team, and is an integral part of the #3 Heart Institute in the U.S.  Our unit is a 30-bed adaptable acuity CTICU with a highly collaborative team which cares for children with critical congenital and acquired heart disease, with surgical volumes of ~250 cases per year and all types of complex care including heart transplants, VADs, multiorgan transplants, and more, with some of the best outcomes in the country.  Our faculty includes leaders in the field and our team is active with quality improvement, research, and education both locally and internationally.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Nurse Practitioner, Critical Care delivers inpatient care to an acute, critical, complex and chronically ill patient population collaboratively with the Divisions of Cardiology and Cardiac Intensivists teams. The Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive: physical assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation for patients and their families. The Nurse Practitioner also provides acute resuscitation, on-going multi-disciplinary medical management, transitional care to sub-acute areas, critical care consultations and evaluations, psychosocial support, and health education to patients and their families in the critical care arena. The Nurse Practitioner also functions as a clinical leader, consultant, and educator in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and all healthcare team members. The Nurse Practitioner supports the philosophies of the department and is evaluated by nursing and medical staff. The Critical Care Nurse Practitioner also performs under standardized procedures within the critical care specialties per Medical Staff privileges. Generally, they are working in a unit that is a 24/7 operation. Schedules are not limited to Monday-Friday with limited or no holidays.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's Degree

BLS for Health Providers (AHA)

California RN License

NP Furnishing, CA

Nurse Practitioner, CA

Ped Adv Life Support Prov(AHA)

Medicare Billing number (NPI- National Provider Identifier)

National NP certification obtained within 6 months of employment

Successfully complete the credentialing process through Medical Staff Services

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

2 Years of Experience

Ped Adv Life Supp Instr (AHA)

2 years experience in clinical nursing within in Pediatric Critical Care (PICU, NICU, CTICU)

National Acute Care NP certification

The current salary range for this position is $74.51 to $102.45
