The Division of Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care, Department of Pediatrics at Monroe Carell Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt (MCJCHV) seeks a full-time attending physician for a position on the Tenure, Clinician Educator or Clinical Practice track. Successful applicants will be board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Cardiology and Pediatric Critical Care or have one year of advanced training in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care. The Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Division is currently comprised of 10 faculty members who staff a 27 bed Cardiac ICU and support an ACGME-approved fellowship training program in collaboration with the Division of Pediatric Critical Care. The preferred candidate will demonstrate a track record of excellence in clinical care, graduate medical education, quality improvement or research and possess outstanding communication and teamwork skills. Academic track and rank will be commensurate with experience.
The Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at MCJCHV is an integral component of the Pediatric Heart Institute, serving as the regional referral center for children with congenital and acquired heart disease from throughout Tennessee and the Southeast. Significant investment has been made in the Pediatric Heart Institute with the recent recruitment of Dr. Carlos Mery as the Division Chief of Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery and Dr. Larry Markham as the Division Chief of Pediatric Cardiology. We currently perform approximately 475 cases yearly with a projection to grow to 600 cases yearly in the next 5 years.
