The Congenital Heart Collaborative
The Division of Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital and Case Western Reserve (CWRU) School of Medicine is seeking an additional full-time cardiac intensivist to join our expanding program in association with The Congenital Heart Collaborative.
Rainbow is an internationally renowned, academic children’s hospital located adjacent to MacDonald’s Women’s Hospital and University Hospitals Medical Center. We provide the highest-quality care to infants, children, and adolescents with complex congenital heart disease through The Congenital Heart Collaborative, a comprehensive affiliation between the and Nationwide Children’s Hospital Heart Programs. The Collaborative is committed to expanding access to high-quality comprehensive cardiac care regardless of patient age, while equally embracing a scholarly and educational mission.
On the Rainbow campus, we perform cardiac surgeries of all complexities as well as fetal cardiac interventions and complex pediatric catheterization procedures in our adjacent Pediatric Cardiac Cath Lab/Hybrid Operating Rooms. Our state-of-the-art Pediatric Cardiac ICU opened in November 2023. Care of children, including pre- and post-op neonates, is supported by an interdisciplinary team of dedicated APPs, critical care and cardiology fellows, specialized RNs and RTs, PharmDs, nutritionists, social workers, and others.
Supplementing clinical responsibilities will be a faculty appointment at Case Western Reserve University with rank commensurate with experience and credentials. Support for research, quality improvement, administrative development, leadership, education, and other academic pursuits are amply available.
Faculty are well-supported at this world-class Children’s Hospital with 60+ years of experience in the care of those with congenital and pediatric acquired heart disease, an outstanding educational and research enterprise at CWRU, and an internationally recognized program partner with Nationwide Children’s Hospital Heart Center. Rainbow is among the nation’s Best Children’s Hospitals by U.S. News and World Report ranking in 2025-26 in 11 specialties, including #22 in Cardiology and Heart Surgery.
