Ochsner Children’s Hospital is seeking a board certified/eligible Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist trained in Critical Care Medicine or Cardiology with advanced training in Cardiac Critical Care or significant experience in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care to join the expanding team in New Orleans, Louisiana.

About our pediatric CVICU and Congenital Heart Center:

• Over 200 cardiac surgical cases performed each year
• 12-bed CVICU, with over 300 CVICU admissions each year
• CVICU clinical team supported by 3 APPs, with the goal to expand to 24/7 coverage
• Only heart transplant and ventricular assist device program in the state of Louisiana
• Complex Congenital Cardiac Catheterization program, with over 400 cases each year
• Additional cardiac subspecialists available including electrophysiology, ACHD, and advanced imaging

Across 27 locations in Louisiana and Mississippi, our comprehensive Ochsner Children’s program includes over 270 medical and surgical subspecialists and general pediatricians to create a medical home for the children of Louisiana. The group is the region’s leading integrated provider of multispecialty care for newborns, infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. In additional to our growing Heart Center, we offer a full range of pediatric complex specialty services including liver and bone marrow transplantation, a comprehensive surgical sub-specialty group, advanced GI and Hepatology, advanced spine surgery, Hematology-Oncology and AYA Oncology, Cleft Palate/Cranio-Facial Surgery and the Boh Center, the region’s only comprehensive multidisciplinary developmental pediatrics center.

Our facilities also include a 14-bed Pediatric ICU, a 67-bed Level IV Neonatal ICU, and a 44-bed pediatric Acute Care Unit. Our team is also supported by a 24/7 dedicated pediatric and neonatal transport team, facilitating critical care transports from across Louisiana and Gulf South.

We are proud that U.S News and World Report has ranked Ochsner Children’s among the Top 50 Children’s Hospitals in the US in multiple subspecialities for 8 consecutive years and as the #1 in ranked Children’s Hospital in Louisiana. To meet our growing needs, we have also begun construction on a new, state-of-the-art Children’s Hospital, with expected opening in early 2028.

In addition to direct patient care, Ochsner has a growing number of academic affiliations. Ochsner Children’s Hospital has an ACGME-accredited pediatric residency program. The team is also responsible for teaching medical students from both Tulane University School of Medicine and the University of Queensland School of Medicine, Australia. Ochsner Health and Xavier University of Louisiana recently announced a partnership to establish a joint allopathic College of Medicine, the Xavier Ochsner College of Medicine, which is in the LCME accreditation process currently. Our faculty publishes hundreds of research papers annually, and Ochsner participates in numerous multi-center studies and trials.
