Faculty Position: Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist

Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone Health is seeking a faculty member to join its rapidly growing Congenital Cardiovascular Intensive Care Team. The successful candidate will serve as an attending physician in the Congenital Cardiovascular Care Unit (CCVCU) and will join a collaborative group of seven cardiac intensivists within a nationally recognized division of 28 pediatric cardiologists.

The CCVCU currently consists of 14 beds, with capacity to care for more than 18 patients, and manages approximately 500 complex admissions annually, including surgical, transplant, interventional, and medical cases. All pediatric patients undergoing congenital cardiac surgery—approximately 200 cases per year—are admitted to the unit. The patient population ranges from premature neonates to young adults and is characterized by high acuity and medical complexity. The unit maintains a strong culture of safety and is committed to achieving world-class clinical outcomes. Multidisciplinary care is supported by cardiothoracic surgical advanced practice providers, pediatric cardiology fellows, and pediatric critical care fellows.

This position includes a full-time academic appointment in the Department of Pediatrics at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine at a rank commensurate with experience and qualifications. Faculty members are expected to participate in medical education and contribute to quality improvement initiatives and/or clinical or translational research. Robust opportunities exist for interdisciplinary research collaboration across NYU Langone Health and New York University.

Qualified candidates must be board certified or board eligible in pediatric cardiology, pediatric critical care medicine, neonatology, or anesthesiology. Additional fellowship training in cardiac critical care medicine or dual board certification, including pediatric cardiology, is required.
