The Heart Center at The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) and Albert Einstein School of Medicine is seeking an experienced Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist to join our dynamic and growing faculty to serve as Medical Director of our Cardiovascular Care Unit (CVCU). The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore is a quaternary care, academic children’s hospital in New York City, serving the diverse patient population of the Bronx, Westchester County, and the Hudson Valley and provides over 9,000 consultation and follow-up visits to children and 400 adult congenital heart disease visits per year in the region.
Candidates will have completed fellowship training in both Pediatric Cardiology and Critical Care or either subspecialty with additional training in cardiac intensive care, plus ~5 years of experience as attending faculty. Preference will be given to those with previous leadership experience, but those interested in a new leadership opportunity are also encouraged to apply. The right candidate will have an opportunity to work with the leaders in Pediatrics, Pediatric Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery and Nursing to help further expand the program and advance the care for the patients and families that CHAM serves.
Our ideal candidate will be energetic, enthusiastic, and will have the ability to work effectively as a leader of a multidisciplinary team. We are particularly interested in applicants who are both productive investigators as well as dedicated educators of learners of all levels. Most importantly, the candidate must be an outstanding clinician dedicated to the compassionate care of hospitalized children and their families.
The Division of Pediatric Cardiology at CHAM is growing and currently consists of pediatric cardiologists with specialist expertise in all subspecialty fields including: fetal cardiology, heart failure and transplant, pulmonary hypertension, cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, cardiac intensive care, preventive cardiology, and adult congenital heart disease. The Department has ACGME accredited pediatric cardiology fellowship and pediatric residency programs. All members of the Division have faculty appointments at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, a major biomedical and clinical research facility. Furthermore, the Bronx is an eclectic community with excellent cuisine, a world-renowned zoo, a botanical garden, and is in close proximity to Westchester County, midtown Manhattan, and Northern NJ.
