Fourth Year CTICU Fellowship

Fourth Year CTICU Fellowship

The Section of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Rady Children’s Hospital, University of California, San Diego would like to announce the launch of an advanced Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Fellowship.

The Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit at Rady Children’s Hospital is a world class, highly ranked 24 bed facility, with a multidisciplinary team consisting of pediatric intensivists, pediatric cardiologists, Cardiothoracic surgeons, ENT surgeons, pulmonologists, APPs, nursing staff, respiratory therapists and other ancillary staff. The Heart center performs over 200 surgical cases per year, and has active programs in Heart Failure, Transplant and mechanical circulatory support. We care for all preoperative neonates, with surgical cardiac disease, as well as high risk patients from our interventional and electrophysiology programs. Additionally, we work in close collaboration with an expert otorhinolaryngology team to care for some patients with airway disease. We have an active airway stent program, with cutting edge innovation in collaborative cardiac and airway procedures.

Fellows would primarily spend their time within our CTICU, with rotations in echocardiography, cardiac anesthesiology, Cardiothoracic surgery, electrophysiology, advanced imaging, and adult congenital heart disease. These rotations will be tailored depending upon the training background and the educational requirements of individual fellows.

Individuals who are currently training in pediatric intensive care or pediatric cardiology may apply, along with a CV, personal statement and with three letters of recommendation.

All interested individuals can email the program director Shilpa Vellore Govardhan, MD at svgovardhan@rchsd.com with questions.
