The Department of Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh is actively seeking BE/BC intensivists to join our Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Division faculty. Opportunities for clinicians, clinician-educators, and clinician-scientists are available.

Minimum objective qualifications; other desirable qualifications:

The selected candidate must have an MD or DO and be board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine by a US accreditation board. Dual board eligibility/certification in Cardiology or Advanced Cardiac Critical Care training is desirable. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. The candidate should exhibit a strong commitment to educating the next generation of clinicians, advancing the field of pediatric cardiac critical care medicine through research, and advancing the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the health sciences.

About the Department:

Every year, referring physicians and families of more than 18,000 patients with heart disease choose the Heart Institute at CHP when they need the most advanced cardiac care. The CHP Heart Institute ranks as one of the top 10 US News and World Report Pediatric Cardiology and Heart Surgery programs in the United States. At the forefront are the 12-bed CICU and 21-bed CICU/Acute Care complex especially designed to meet the needs of pediatric patients with both congenital and acquired heart disease. The CICU admits approximately 500 patients annually (children of all ages and adults) and specializes in perioperative management of patients with complex congenital heart disease, adult congenital heart disease, advanced management of patients with decompensated heart failure and pulmonary hypertension including, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, ventricular assist devices, heart and lung transplantation. The suitable candidate will join a dedicated and cohesive team of cardiac intensivists, and pediatric advanced practice providers, and shall benefit from the mentorship, academic resources, and research opportunities offered by the Department of Critical Care Medicine Safar Center for Resuscitation Research, and Center for Research, Investigation, and Systems Modeling of Acute Illness (CRISMA).

Rank and/or title; salary range or minimum:

Appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor is anticipated. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
