Driscoll Children’s Hospital is seeking CICU Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our dynamic Heart Center Team, located in a stunning coastal climate in Corpus Christi, Texas. This role provides advanced practice care to children with congenital & acquired heart disease. Essential Functions:
Complete comprehensive history and physical exams
Manage individualized treatment plans
Order, perform and interpret diagnostic tests
Complete Consults with follow up as indicated
Prescribe medications, therapies as indicated within scope of practice
Manage hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical ventilation, and ECMO as needed in collaboration with supervising physicians
Perform advanced procedures as credentialed
Participate in daily rounds and communicate care plan with families
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members
Participate in Heart Center improvement initiatives
Education & Experience:
- Master’s or Post Master’s Degree, Required
- Graduation from an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioners Program with practice authority in the State of Texas, required.
- Completion of an Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) approved program (prior to January 2001 - Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs), required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of pediatric acute care experience, required.
