Children’s National Hospital in Washington DC is recruiting for an Associate Chief of Cardiac Anesthesiology.
The Associate Chief for Cardiac Anesthesiology reports directly to the Division Chief of Anesthesiology, Pain and Perioperative Medicine (APPM) and serves as the direct supervisor of all cardiac anesthesiology faculty. This individual, in conjunction with the Chief of APPM and other institutional leaders, guides a path forward in developing a strategic plan to provide access to cardiac anesthesiology services. The candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of cardiac anesthesiology experience.

- Surgical expertise: Our renowned pediatric cardiac surgeons conduct more than 300 cardiac procedures each year, including ventricular assist devices and heart transplants. We are also certified for lung transplants.
- Lifelong care: Children's National is home to 1 of only 40 Adult Congenital Heart Association (ACHA)-accredited programs in 25 states. We provide specialized care for adult patients with congenital heart defects, including care in our cardiac critical care unit.
- Prioritizing neurodevelopment: The approach to cardiac care at Children’s National extends beyond traditional cardiac care to include a specialized focus on the developing brain and long-term neurodevelopmental outcomes with our Neuro-Cardiac Critical Care Program. Clinical care begins with a prenatal diagnosis in the Prenatal Cardiology Program and then continues through any needed surgical procedures.
