APPs in the Cardiac ICU at Seattle Children's function at a high level of clinical practice managing a wide range of complexity and acuity. Busy CV surgery program, mobile ECMO, VAD center, high volume pediatric heart failure and transplant center. APPs are involved in QI, teaching, and ongoing professional development. 

Seattle Children's has a 24 bed CICU. Adding 6 TCU beds. Front line provider coverage model primarily consists of APPs, Critical Care fellows, Cardiology fellows providing 24 X 7 coverage. No residents.
