Robin Klein, MD is an attending in cardiac critical care in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Cardiology at Children’s Hospital of Colorado as well as an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado. Following a residency in pediatrics, Dr. Klein completed a Pediatric Critical Care fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital. She then completed a fellowship in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles where she subsequently joined the faculty before transitioning of Children’s Hospital of Colorado. Her passion is in leadership education and improving communication in the hospital setting. Dr. Klein also conducts health services research studying distribution ICU organization, staffing, training paradigms and technology availability across the United States and how that can affect outcomes. She also works on local implementation science to change ICU practices and improve care. Current projects include evaluating the current cardiac critical care workforce with a focus on wellness of the field, improving discharges and transfers in the heart institute and creating a care pathway for patients with cardiogenic shock.
