
Spanish e-Version of the Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Medicine Curriculum
Advances in the management of children with congenital and acquired cardiovascular disease has been in large part the result of collaborative efforts from anesthesia, cardiology, critical care medicine, cardiac surgery and other specialties including neonatology, neurology and endocrinology. From this effort emerged the specialty of pediatric cardiac critical care medicine.
This publication is the result of the combined efforts of over 20 contributors from multiple centers and consists of a broadly based core curriculum for physicians and a simulation curriculum. The physician curriculum is composed of learning objectives, with each objective highlighting key discussion points and stated in a way that is intended to generate discussion. Each set of objectives includes references that are available on MEDLINE or in readily available textbooks. The simulation curriculum provides a case library and includes guidelines and instructions for conducting each simulation.
