Connecticut Children’s is actively seeking a Pediatric Interventional Cardiologist to join our growing Division of Pediatric Cardiology. The ideal candidate should be board-certified in Pediatric Cardiology, have completed advanced training in pediatric interventional cardiology, and possess post-fellowship interventional cardiology experience treating patients from infancy through adulthood. The successful candidate will serve as one of two attending cardiac interventionalists supported by an interventional cardiac nurse practitioner. Academic rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. A directorship within the section of Interventional Cardiology may be considered based on interest and experience. Participation in house staff and fellow education, as well as clinical, translational, and/or quality/performance improvement research, will be expected. Additional clinical duties will include an outpatient cardiology clinic. Inpatient cardiology duties can be considered based on interest and experience.
Roles and Responsibilities:
-Perform a full spectrum of pediatric and adult congenital interventional cardiac catheterization procedures in a state-of-the-art Hybrid Cath Lab.
-Help guide the clinical operations and ongoing development of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, including protocols, equipment planning, workflow, and quality initiatives.
-Participate in national quality improvement efforts, including the IMPACT Registry, and support patient safety, quality assurance, and regulatory readiness.
-Build and strengthen partnerships with regional institutions to expand congenital interventional cardiology services.
-Collaborate closely with cardiac surgery, pediatric cardiac intensive care, Advanced Practice Providers, and multidisciplinary care teams to optimize patient outcomes.
-Provide comprehensive outpatient pediatric cardiology care, with the option for inpatient care as well.
-Teach and mentor pediatric cardiology fellows, residents, interns, and medical students through the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.

-Interest and experience in academic medicine, including teaching and research, as well as regional and national representation at conferences and committees.
-Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Required Qualifications:
MD or DO with Board Certification in Pediatric Cardiology.
Formal training in pediatric interventional cardiology, alongside post-fellowship experience and expertise in pediatric and adult congenital interventional cardiology.
Eligibility for licensure and registration for medical practice in the State of Connecticut.

Connecticut Children’s is the only health system in Connecticut that is a free-standing children’s hospital. CT Children’s is home to the University of Connecticut School of Medicine Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship Program and provides training for medical students, residents, and fellows in maternal-fetal medicine, cardiothoracic surgery, and emergency medicine. The Division of Cardiology is comprised of 14 cardiologists and 4 advanced practitioners. The cardiothoracic surgery team is directed by Dr. Dennis Mello. The practice features a state-of-the-art hybrid catheterization lab that routinely performs a full range of transcatheter procedures supported by our exceptional advanced imaging services with approximately 10,000 echocardiograms performed annually.Application Process:
