Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Fellow
The Children’s Heart Institute at UTHealth- Houston has two fellowship openings in our Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Fellowship program. Our center has consistently ranked amongst the top programs in the country with a 3-star status for several consecutive years designated by STS with excellent outcomes. In addition, we have continuously held the highest acuity patient population per STS data, providing an excellent and challenging learning opportunity and foundation for a future career in pediatric cardiac intensive care.
The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Fellowship program is a one-year training program that provides advanced fellows with exposure to care of patients with medically complex cardiovascular disease, post-operative care and acute and chronic heart failure management with designated time in imaging, cardiac catherization, and electrophysiology. We are also a designated center for VAD and cardiac transplant patients. Annually, our program performs over 650 total surgeries with 380 pump cases and is rapidly growing.
Ideal candidates must have successfully completed a Pediatric Critical Care Medicine fellowship or Pediatric Cardiology fellowship in an ACGME Accredited training program, and should be board certified or board eligible.
