Children’s Specialty Group (CSG) at Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters (CHKD) are seeking a Full-time, BC/BE Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care physician for a busy, 32-bed multi-disciplinary PICU/PCICU at Virginia’s only free-standing children’s hospital. Averaging 1400 admissions per year with a nearly 50/50 split with medical and surgical patients, we care for the full spectrum of severely ill and injured children. We have a growing cardiac ICU population and intentions to split into two separate units in the near future with 10 CICU beds. 

The team consists of a dedicated clinical pharmacist, dietician, social worker, chaplain, child life specialist, discharge coordinator, respiratory therapists, nurses and physicians.  The successful candidate will be joining 8 FTE BC intensivists, currently hiring for a goal of 12 physicians, plus 6 full-time acute care NP’s, with plans to expand to 8, in a 24/7 in-house model.  We partner with the University of Virginia in our Congenital Cardiac Surgery program.

We have an active ECMO program, are a level 1 trauma center, and have all medical and surgical specialties represented.  You will be joining a physician-owned, Children’s Specialty Group, PLLC which also serves as faculty at Eastern Virginia Medical Center at Old Dominion University. The group is devoted to the best clinical care of our patients, with active participation in policies, procedures, quality initiatives, clinical teaching, and advocacy in an environment conducive to an excellent work-life balance.  At this time, we cannot consider J-1 Visa applicants.
