
APRN - Cardiac Intensive Care Unit
Norton Children's Hospital, affiliated with the University of Louisville, in Louisville, Kentucky, is recruiting a Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our current group of 6 PAC-APRNs and 8 cardiac intensivists who staff the Jennifer Lawrence Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. The Jennifer Lawrence Cardiac Intensive Care Unit is a 17-bed dedicated cardiac ICU which opened in 2019. Our growing program includes a heart failure program with a busy ventricular assist device and active heart transplant program, electrophysiology, adult congenital heart disease, and a busy interventional cath program. Our cardiac surgical program performs the full range of congenital cardiac surgeries. In addition, we have one of the oldest ECMO programs in the country, performing between 20-35 Pediatric and neonatal cardiac and respiratory ECMO runs each year. APRNs are valued members of our team and take on front line patient care responsibilities including performing procedures, responding to acute changes in hemodynamics, and developing plans of care in conjunction with the attending physician.
Successful applicants must have pediatric acute care nurse practitioner certification, be eligible for licensure by the Kentucky Board of Nursing, and be able to obtain hospital privileges.
