Sedation in the CICU: Using QI to Transform Practice

Description

The PCICS QI Committee brings you a new webinar series dedicated to enhancing the quality and effectiveness of care for critically ill pediatric cardiac patients. This virtual platform will foster collaborative learning, discussion, and networking through an expert panel and moderated Q&A session. We hope to offer the opportunity for presenters and audience members to connect with one another and share protocols/processes. 

Objectives 

  • Leverage QI methodology to masterfully implement sedation optimization interventions to improve patient outcomes 
  • Examine key quality improvement techniques for implementing sedation algorithms and interventions 
  • Discuss experiences in sedation optimization at variably sized and resourced institutions 
  • Uncover and discuss how to minimize barriers to successful implementation of sedation optimization projects 
  • Assess key quality indicators of successful implementation of sedation optimization practices
